Paul Hodgson

MCS Paul HodgsonEngland number nine Paul Hodgson is the epitome of what a scrum-half should be... loquacious, quick-witted with the speed and power to cause opposing defenders problems. Or, in the words of legendary England World Cup winner, Will Greenwood, small, wirey, very quick and gobby!

Epsom-born Paul joined London Irish in July 2004 from Bristol Shoguns. He has represented England at U18s, U21s and at full International level as well as playing for England 7s in the IRB World Sevens Series. To date he has made over 150 first team appearances and scored 10 tries for the Exiles and received the 'Player of the Season Award' at the club's annual awards ceremony in May 2008.

In July 2008 Paul helped guide England Saxons to a second successive Barclays Churchill Cup title, playing in all three of England's matches including the final against Scotland A.

Having been named in the Sky Sports 2008-9 Guinness Premiership Dream Team after an outstanding season for London Irish, Paul has continued to keep his England place as the vital link between the forwards and the backs.
