John Faulkner

John Faulkner is a graduate of the Webber-Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London. He has since worked as a professional producer, director, actor and singer in over twenty countries for some forty years. His British Actor’s Equity performer’s name was Richard Denning but recently he reverted to using his own name and is now registered with Equity and Spotlight as John Faulkner.

In London’s West End he appeared in The Good Companions at Her Majesty’s; Dandy Dick with Alastair Sim at The Garrick Theatre; Oh Mr Porter! at The Mermaid; The Mousetrap; The Seagull at the Duke of Yorks with Alan  Bates; The Gay Lord Quex, directed by Sir John Gielgud; Me and My Girl at The Adelphi; Stepping Out at The Duke of Yorks and Illuminations at the Lyric Hammersmith, with Paul Eddington.

He appeared in the Royal National Theatre, (Cottesloe) production of John Lahr’s revue based on the life of playwright Joe Orton “Diary of a Nobody” and has worked extensively in UK regional theatre, including Birmingham Repertory Theatre; the Pitlochry Festival; Exeter Northcott; the Leicester Haymarket; York Theatre Royal; Windsor Theatre Royal; Leeds Playhouse and two seasons at the Chichester Festival Theatre.  

John speaks fluent French and appeared for one year at the famous Casino de Paris as singer-host in Roland Petit’s revue “Zizi Je T’Aime”, starring French dance legend, Zizi Jeanmaire.

He appeared in the Hall Wallis film “Mary Queen of Scots” in the role of “Francois 1er” opposite Vanessa Redgrave.

For BBCTV he appeared in “Frost In May” “The Songwriters” and “Unity Mitford”.
